This Bitch Doesn't Wear Prada

I recently attended the book signing for Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch, at Book Soup in Los Angeles. Expecting yet another lipstick memoir, I was surprised by Maria Belknap's animated story telling and reading. This is no autobiography. The "Bitch" it turns out, is a German Shorthaired Pointer (a dog) named Dylan, a rescue we come to be told, that Maria proactively "took" from a life of abuse and abandonment and raised in the lap of luxurious Beverly HIlls. Full of delightful "dogisms" and human insights, Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch is a great story. I couldn't put the book down once I picked it up. I only wish there was more. Will there be a sequel?

Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch

Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. It is the very funny and insightful telling of both the plight of a rescued dog taken to live in a posh new world; as well as the story of the dog's owner, a woman going through a divorce in Beverly Hills. I also loved how the story was told from the dog's perspective. A fun read and a definite for anyone's summer reading list.

Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch

Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch has something for everyone, especially the animal lover ... romance, tragedy, heart-tugging emotion, comedy and a heroic ending, all narrated by a dog! This book gives us a view of Beverly Hills thur the eyes of a shorthaired "bitch" named Dylan who adores all the extravagance and over-indulgence of Beverly Hills and still manages to do some good in the world.

Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch

The book, Tales of a Beverly Hills Bitch, is chick lit with a refreshing twist: it's narrated by a dog! As a big fan of the chick lit genre as well as a dog lover, I found this book to be thoroughly engaging. It is funny, clever and at times, heartbreakingly eye-opening. I recommend this book to ladies and dog lovers everywhere.
