An extraordinary volume

Richard Quinney has spent a lifetime getting "here," back home to a Wisconsin farm, and the degree of reflection is lovely for the reader; his way of understanding the region of Wisconsin is in the best traditions of literary regionalism; and his sensitivity to ecological and social themes informs without ever becoming didadtic. The photos are gorgeous and can be gazed at again and again. This is a terribly charming book.
