Taekwondo Basics

I would like to start off this review by stating that the author really started off on the right foot by doing a great thing with the title, and that is letting everyone know right off the bat that this book is meant to be a "basic guide" to Tae Kwon Do. No this is not a book where you can really learn a technique from, it is more so intended as a brief, yet thorough basic overview of the martial art of Tae Kwon Do. The author goes over everything from history, philosophy, and etiquette, to the actual physical techniques of punching and kicking, and pretty much everything in-between. If you are a novice to the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do and want to get a single book that will give you the best overall idea of what this art is about and what it encompasses, then this book would definitely be the right one for you. If you are looking for some books where you can actually learn Tae Kwon Do techniques from, be advised that there are many of them that are available, depending exactly upon what you wish to learn. Here are just a couple of the ones that I would recommend.
