Tabasco the Saucy Raccoon

I have read a few of Lyn Hancocks exciting books, but this is my favorite. This is a modern day "Rascal" story. Disney should make this one a movie now! This story was so personal for the author I understand she "shelved" it for years before allowing it to be printed. So glad she did, and I highly recommend it for all readers. This story is adorable. It is the story of how the author was given a raccoon and how she ended up living with it and teaching it to survive. The author clearly has a great love for animals and a great respect for raccoons in particular. This would be an excellent book for a preteen to read. It is a little bit too boring/bland for young children. If you are looking for a chapter book to read to a young child, you might look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is an enchanting book. Enjoy.

This was a wonderful, warm account of how an infant raccoon is raised into an adult and her follies along the way. I enjoyed it very much.
