Just a lovely book

I got this book as a wedding gift, and have since given it as a wedding gift countless times. I inserted my wedding photo in the back to personalize it which makes it that much more special. On many a rainy Sunday afternoon I can be found curled up on the sofa lazily flipping through the pages of "Symbols of Love," getting nostalgic (and sometimes teary) over those that hit close to home.

This book is comprehensive, very informative, and very interesting. And, it will save you the time of surfing through dozens of Valentine websites that give inaccurate information on love symbols. The book takes a look at the obvious love symbols, like the heart, and obscure items that most people probably wouldn't even think of, like rice or shoes tied at the back of a newly married couple's car, and traces their history back to ancient times, various cultures, and traditions. It also provides information on the courtship traditions and wedding rituals of various countries.I bought this a week before Valentine's Day, and it definitely got me into the spirit of the holiday. A great gift for a significant other or loved one.
