Dreamy!

Amazing book. This is not a dream dictionary but rather a symbolistic and archetypal look at trying to decipher your dreams. I originally bought it for my mother, but now I decided to keep it until I am done with it. Amazing and really interesting. The author has an interesting conversation with you page by page.

A different view of dreams

I enjoy Sylvia Browne, and you may have seen her on Montel Williams. She is so down to earth, and real. You can get this essence of her personality in this book. She has a no nonsense discussion of dreams and their meanings. She is a little less into symbolism unlike many other dream books you may have read in the past. What I liked about this book is that she feels not every symbol you see in a dream is some sort of repressed sexual symbol. She also states very clearly that not every thing you may see in a dream is absolutely relavant. I think this is very helpful as some dream books will have you trying to sort out everything you see in a dream. Themes are the key for her dream interpretation. She also feels that there are different types of dreams. Some dreams may reveal the future, while others may answer problems that you are currently working on. Other dreams may be spiritual connections with loved ones that may have passed on, and others dreams, are simply dreams. I would recommend reading this book for those of you who may not have heard of Sylvia Browne before. For the fans of Sylvia Browne I feel the content of this book is fairly original and not material that is used in other books. She offers you a realistic way to view your own dreams and learn the insight from the dreams that you have.

Great book

I will make this fast. This was my first Sylvia Browne Book and it had me hooked. I was excited every chance that i got to read it. It opened a few things up about dreams that i've had for years and some i've had as a child. She does not give you direct interpretation of every thing you dream but makes you find your own meaning after all we are all different. Boy some things that she stated hit me pretty hard, how i could have missed that myself. It really helped me see what my mind was telling me subconsciously in my dreams ~ and what i need to do to fix that. Now when people ask me what their dreams mean it's still hard to interpret them but it has become somewhat easier.

How to make dream intrepretation easy.

Okay, I have to admit up front, I'm a Sylvia Browne freak. I loved all her books and how much she helps people when they are having difficulties in life. (The reviewer that gave her "predictions" in a general broad manner to critique Sylvia, was even funny because she showed how general preditions are not much help at all and not even worth reading hers or anyone else's was great in justaposition to true psychics such as Sylvia and James Van Praagh. I just hope she doesn't quit her day job to become a "psychic"-hahaha)But back to her book, Sylvia is far more skilled, and even though she does not have advanced degrees in psychology or psychiatry (which may even be an asset), she does a truly fantastic job in categorizing the types of dreams you may have (both recurring and nonrecurring)into 5 basic types, and then does a truly wonderful job of discussing how you can best further analyze a troubling or mystifying dream you have had to your benefit. (Freud, on the other hand, and others who have all the PhD's seem to complicate the matter of dream interpretation far beyond the average person's ken.)In any case, Sylvia does give specific techniques for analyzing and understanding dreams, and even getting rid of nightmares and upsetting dreams that aren't there to help us.She also gives numerous life examples of how properly analyzing the dream can help us in our daily lives or help us dispel fears and misunderstandings when we just take some time to properly put an annoying dream in perspective. If you are interested in what dreams mean in a simplfied form, and how you can learn some simple techiques to learn from the information which is being relayed to you in your dreams, this book indeed is a well written, easy to understand and helpful guide. It is very practical and not at all scientific, and it is based on intuition and belief, written by someone who is extraordinarily intuitive and sensitive. This book is just one more lesson in how we can use our angels and spirit guides to open up our hearts to loving messages we can receive from the other side which will help us immensely in our daily lives.
