Building Christian Character series Sylvester the Jester

Each book of The Christian Character series encompasses a specific topic. Some of them are: Thankfulness, Obedience, Showing love, Forgiveness, Fairness, Helpfulness. This one focuses on accepting others who are different. The books in this series are done in rhyme and have a smooth, easy flow to them that keep the child interested; as well as an abundance of cute, applicable illustrations that convey feeling and emotion. At the end of each story is an applicable Bible verse. My 4 children all loved these books and we read them over and over. I think they really do teach a lesson in a way that the child can identify with. Each child has had all of these conflicts and emotions and can see him/herself in the situation. The books show wonderful conflict resolution. This book finds Sylvester, the kingdom of Bingdom's finest jester planning the monthly Royal Feast, and at the feast he starts looking around and noticing there are orange-spotted Bingles, and decides they're different and don't belong..."Oh dear!" he told the King and Queen, "There's something awfully wrong-Those orange-spotted Bingles, See? They're strange. They don't belong. The King and Queen stood up and stared, and instantly they both declared, "My boy, you're right! We must be spared! Please have them move along!" Then curly haired Bingles are banned, and so on, until Sylvester himself is ousted for being stout around the middle. The story goes on to show that all Bingles needed to unite and they the King and Queen from a dragon and from then on all Bingles were allowed. Highy recommend for kids through about age 8.

Books on character

My granddaughter loves these books. I spent more on them than I would have liked, but overall the condition of the book was ok.
