A beautiful story of family that takes place around China's Cultural Revolution. This was a wonderful, moving story bringing insight into the Chinese culture and families struggling to maintain their lives and find beauty in the small things and each other. Exquisitely written, precise in detail, highly lyrical, and unpredictable.
