Suzy Swoof: A Book about Kindness

Each book of The Christian Character series encompasses a specific topic. Some of them are: Thankfulness, Obedience, Showing love, Forgiveness, Fairness, Helpfulness and Jealousy. This one focuses on kindness. The books in this series are done in rhyme and have a smooth, easy flow to them that keep the child interested; as well as an abundance of cute, applicable illustrations that convey feeling and emotion. At the end of each story is an applicable Bible verse. My 4 children all loved these books and we read them over and over. I think they really do teach a lesson in a way that the child can identify with. Each child has had all of these conflicts and emotions and can see him/herself in the situation. The books show wonderful conflict resolution. In this book the Swoofs lived in trees that topped the tallest roofs and all the Swoofs could fly but not Suzy. Flying made Suzy woozy! The other Swoofs made fun of her..."That would make poor Suzy cry. How she wished that she could fly. The other Swoofs had so much fun, they had friends...but she had none. And since she was afraid to fly, she couldn't have a house up high. Her little home was on the ground, all alone but safe and sound." Until one day, when a terrible storm comes up and the Swoofs are scared and Suzy takes them into her home and shows them kindness. Then they feel bad they treated her that way and include her from then on! Highy recommend for kids up to about age 8.
