Sushi and.... Opera Rap?

I loved this graphic novel because of the imaginitive storyline and interesting characters-- like Zoo Pets, the friendly zoo animals, and Kemmy, the pink-haired country girl who comes to this city and finds out she has no money! She decides to join a sushi delivery service known as Rainbow Sushi (home of Quo Quo the purple moose Zoo Pet) after the pretzel vender Shay helps her save the day... They soon follow Kemmy's dream of becoming an Opera Rap star when they start to form a band called the Phatlantis Phive! What lies in wait for the five young heroes? You'll have to read it and see...Amazing artwork on Tavicat's part, a wonderful creation from Stu Levy. Read this and you'll never think of sushi the same way again!

Tavicat's best since Reality Check!

Sushi Girl, originally shown in Mixx's girls mangazine Smile, is printed in its full content in this great little graphic novel. Creator Stu Levy teamed with the writing talent of Rosearik Rikki Simons(the voice of Gir on Invader Zim)and the shojo-style art of his wife Tavisha Wolfgrath Simons come together to make for a wonderfully delicious anime story. Rosearik and Tavisha did the funny Reality Check series and its current spinoff: Ranklechick and His Three Legged Cat. Now their splendid use of computer graphics and anime artwork combine for this book that's good for all ages. Sushi Girl happens in 222 A.A.(After Armageddon)where the Earth is split up in several different areas. Kemmy is a normal girl from the sticks who has saved up her whole life to go to the Big Melon, which is the new neo-mall-metropolis. Unfortunately, all her currency from home ain't worth jack upstairs, so her dreams of being an operap diva are shot down. But because of a breakout at the zoo, and Kemmy's quick thinking and Bunny Board skills, she becomes a hero and gets a job as a sushi delivery girl. Then she starts a band with the other guys at Rainbow Sushi called the Phatlantis Phive. Seems nice until the spiteful b!+(# Olivia Neutron Bomb shows up to ruin things. Will Kemmy and the band work up enough good karma to save the day? Will we ever find out why there are talking purple midget mooses. Duh! Of course!

So unique! I loved the characters and vibrant colors!

This is proof that you don't have to be japanese to write a good story! I think it is great! I think the viewer that gave it a bad rating didn't really understand Sushi Girl, or was having a bad day. This is such an original story and I am totally hooked! Pray that the rumor that they are not going to publish any more stories about Sushi Girl is not true! I beg Tavicat and Stew to publish more! PULEEEEESE! It is so good for my Karma! *wink* This cool story is of the future of a world where good people with good karma get rich from the good things they do..and the bad ones with negative Karma do not. So nice people get money from being nice and the not so nice don't. (sigh)Such good logic! :-) The main character is called Kemmy, my fav pink haired girl who will help fight bad Karma and deliver sushi on time to sing in her band! If you haven't read it, get it! The art is cool and the colors are so vibrant and so is Kemmy and this story! It rocks!

v. kewl!

I loved the art and the story line. The backgrounds were spectacular and the charachters (I never could spell that word) were original. Unfortunately, I heard that Tavicat gave up and they aren't going to finish and release the second book, scheduled to come out this month. Everybody e-mail them and tell them to please publish it! Fans of SM will definately enjoy this.

Wonderful new anime character!

This book is really great because it is in full color and the colors are vibrant. The story is creative and I could not put it down. I already am a big fan of Sailor Moon and Pokemon and Sushi Girl is an exciting new addition to my anime collection. I cannot wait for Sushi Girl #2.
