Superstitious (R.L. Stine's Book of Superstitions That Come True For One Young Lady)

Superstitious is the first adult R.L. Stine book I have read, a real page-turner. Sara Morgan has the absolute worst luck with men. Chip, Sara's ex, proves himself to be mentally unstable. Sara chooses to move to Freewood to avoid her psychotic ex and start a new life. Sara spends time with her best friend Mary Beth when they encounter Professor Liam O'Connor, his sister Margaret, and Milton Cohn, the college dean. All seem attached to Sara for one reason or another. Freewood's environment darkens when Detective Garrett Montgomery is unable to solve the four murder cases. Something monstrous is lurking in this small town and murdering people. For some reason, Liam seems to know all the victims. Can Liam and his superstitions have something to do with the victims? Also, why does Margaret live in the same house as Liam and Sara? Can superhuman Milton be gutting people with his collection of knives? Who is calling Sara and threatening her to stay away from Liam? So many questions that can only be answered by reading this book. R.L. Stine will always be my favorite author. His imagery both enchants and engrosses me at the same time. Superstitious is one to reread for years to come as well as his other books. I can't wait to read his next book.

Superstitous

This is an outstanding book. This is a horror/ slasher/mystery type book. Definitely very gripping. This book is about the lives of Professor Liam O' Conner and one of his students Sara. They fall in love and get married. But Liam's obsession with superstitions are driving Sara crazy. But when she starts getting phone calls warning her about Liam she ignores them. But when the murders start up and Liam knows all the victims, Sara starts to worry. This is definitely not for younger readers it was written for adults but I being a seventh grader still liked it.

Detail like no other!

I grew up reading fear street books, and no one quite catches horror like Stine. Finally, when Fear street is no longer enough, and I yearn for an adult novel with the same grasp and detail, he writes an adult book! I wish he would write ten more!

A tremendous thriller

All of Stine's other books are left behind after reading Superstitious. It holds your attention and awes you. A story about a girl escaping her ex, and finding the right one. A mix of romance and of horror. You won't want to put down the book! Read the book.

Scary! A book one reads eagerly from page to page!

Superstitious is one scary, nail biting, on-the-edge-of-your-seat, book! When searching through the local library, I came across this book, I signed it out, and whent straight home to read it. I finished it within one night, but what a scary night it was! I read this book, eagerly awaiting what was coming up next. It was so fast paced, and so horrifically scary, that I just couldn't put it down! If you haven't read this book, than do so, it's a good read!!!

Wow! Classic Blood and Gore

Even though my children are not at the age to be reading the ever popular Fear Street series, and I am certainly a bit old to be reading them (or so I thought!) R.L. Stine's reputation as a teen/youth writer drew me instantly to pick up his adult novel, Superstitious. Immediately, after reading the first chapter, I was hooked. I dropped the book and ran to tell my husband about the grotesque images and wild stories. Any book that has eyeballs plopping out onto the pavement within the first few pages has got my attention! It has been many years since I have read such a graphicly profuse book! But I loved every minute of it. I am in my late 20's and still love loud obnoxious music and obnoxiously horrid horror movies, as well. Why not sit down with a gruesome book, as well! I am looking forward to any more adult books that R.L. Stine would like to unleash! I do mean unleash! The story line of this book is plausible, easy to follow and a very good read. There is never a boring moment. The characters all have their oddities, you never know who "done it". A beast has been unleashed, and it's closer than you think. They all are suspicious though...... Terror is very much alive in R.L. Stine's Superstitious. Take it for a ride
