Liked it!

I really enjoyed this book. Interesting serial-killer story with an intense romantic connection between two hot main characters. I read it on a plane and it made the time fly :o) Go-getter reporter Nicole and her family, Joe the cop and his pals, as well as all the characters in this book were rendered skillfully and clearly as individuals. I was a little bugged by the wordy descriptions of each character as we meet them; maybe some less important characters warranted less description. But this is a minor gripe and didn't detract from a book that was a very enjoyable read. I recommend it.

Grabbed me from the first page

If you're looking for a page-turner with a great romance, try this one. Interesting, well-drawn main and side characters. It's my first K Robards book and I loved it.

Ending was full of twists and turns!!

I am an avid reader of all types of books and will definitely add Karen Robards to my list of favorites. The book was fast paced and made my heart race at times. Definitely a great read.

Excellent tale of suspense

Karen Robards writes a spin tingling tale in her newest novel Superstition. Nicky Sullivan, top reporter for a 24 hour Investigates is back in her hometown of Pawley Island SC. Fifteen years ago there was a brutal murder in town. Nicky has her mother a noted psychic to help solve the case. Another murder occurs on the night of the broadcast. This puts Nicky and her family and crew in danger. Police chief Joe Franconi came to quiet Pawley Island to simplify his life. These TV people are making his life a three-ring circus. Plus he is attracted to its star Nicky. When the terror escalates Joe will protect Nicky with his life. Superstition is a riveting tale of evil that lurks where you least expect it. The story pulls you and doesn't let go. The dynamics of Nicky's family is funny, sweet and touching. Nicky and Joe are two strong willed characters that deserve a chance at love.

Robards succeeds with her latest romantic suspense novel

Nicole Sullivan is a television reporter with the tabloid news program "Twenty-Four Hours Investigates." Looking for the big break that will give her career a much-needed boost --- and perhaps land her a job with a national morning show --- she returns home to Pawleys Island in search of a story. This sunny, idyllic community, located off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina, only has one unsolved murder in its past. Fifteen years ago, teenager Tara Mitchell was stabbed to death and two of her friends vanished without a trace. It's said that the ghosts of the three girls haunt the old plantation where the crime occurred. Nicole arranges for her mother, a renowned psychic, to conduct a séance in the house to be broadcast live on "Twenty-Four Hours Investigates." Even if her mother can't make contact with the girls and glean information that might lead to solving the case, Nicole knows that the séance will still make for great TV. But she gets much more than she bargained for. When Nicole's colleague is murdered on the night of the séance, in the same manner as Tara Mitchell, it seems a long-dormant killer may have resurfaced. Nicole also is attacked that night but is saved by the timely intervention of police chief Joe Franconi. Despite evidence that the killer is intent on finishing what he started, Nicole insists on remaining on Pawleys Island to cover the story for "Twenty-Four Hours Investigates." She also finds herself drawn to Joe, whose murky past later comes into play. As the investigation heats up, so does their relationship. Karen Robards neatly ties together the threads from the past and the present, with an extra twist or two thrown in for good measure. There are a few things you're certain to find between the covers of a Karen Robards novel: a feisty heroine, a sexy leading man, a strong cast of secondary characters, and a pulse-pounding storyline. Add a sultry Southern setting and a few ghosts, and you get SUPERSTITION --- the perfect read for a summer afternoon. --- Reviewed by Shannon McKenna
