Great Writing, Great Art

I personally loved this story arc, never really knew much about supergirl so this was really good. Jeph Loeb is one of the greatest. I would recommend anything written by him. Not to mention you see a side of Superman you never really see, so i would read this if you liked vol. 1. The Art is better and a great story arc. Highly Recommended.

Supergirl's Back In A Super Fun Story With Super Cool Art!

First of all, this is not one for the "graphic novel" snobs. This is just a great comic book collection featuring a story and artwork that make for some wonderful fun. Jeph Loeb once again manages to put enough heart and emotion into these characters to elevate this above mere fluff. That depth, along with a fast-paced, roller-coaster ride of an adventure, makes for a thrilling read. Supergirl appears, Supes and Bats disagree on how to handle this development, and Wonder Woman gets in on the action too. Along the way, we get to see some awesome scenes on Apokolips, and a very cool showdown between Superman and Darkseid. Michael Turner's art is beautiful. I especially love the way he draws the most gorgeous Wonder Woman that I've ever seen. Everything else here looks outstanding as well..., but, man, his Wonder Woman is exceptional. If you like comics that are just downright fun to read, this is for you.

A wonderful book

Kara Zor El is back! After 20 years of fake Supergirls (Matrix, Earth angel, Cir El) the girl of steel of silver age gets a new life for the joy of her loyal fans. This beautiful album by Loeb and Turner brings Kara to the 21st century with lovely artwork and a well developed story. In the introduction Loeb says he fell in love with Kara and such love shows in every page of this outstanding work. A must in the collection of every enthusiast of classic super-heroes. Now let us hope that Kara gets the chance she deserves to be fully developed. Supergirl is more than a female version of Superman. As you know Kal-El came to Earth as a baby and was raised in Kansas. His mind is that of an american on a kryptonian boy. But Kara was raised and educated in Krypton until the age of 15. She is the last ambassador of an very advanced civilization. Even if she doesn't have much memory of her life at home she has the potential to became a tutor of his cousin as Loeb suggests in this book. And that's why all those earth girls with Kara's costume were not Supergirls. The krypton background was missing. If you like comics in the old style buy this book! Support the return of the lovely and unique Kara Zor-El

Supergirl Round 2

I just love this book. I wish I could find some witty and insightful comment to make...but words fail me! The presentation is stunning, with the added preface by Mr. Loeb and the bonus sketch book material in the back of the book, I can't think of a more fitting tribute to the re-introduction of Kara Zor-El. Admittedly the teleporation bit at the end was a bit too much for me, but the story is still strong and works well for bringing Kara back into the fold. I love the addition of Wonder Woman and her interest in Kara was well executed. As for Mr. Turner's work...love it. He can not only draw some hot ladies...but his men aren't too shabby either. Hands down...this book is fabulous.

The Supergirl book is super!

If you're a Smallville and/or Superman fan, get this book! Jeph Loeb and his team did a fantastic job of storytelling and illustration of Kara Zor-el/Supergirl (Superman's sensitive little teenage cousin). It was a very moving book about family where Superman meets his long-lost cousin; so now, Superman is not alone anymore. It's a real labor of love from Mr. Loeb and his team. I hope WB would do a spin-off of Smallville about Kara Zor-el and get Jeph and his team to write and produce the episodes or do a movie adaption of this wonderful comic book!
