Summer of ‘69… nostalgic

The summer of ‘69. A time of love, fun, war, untimeliness in our country, and what those of that generation still talk about today. I was not born into that generation but reading this novel made me feel as if I was living in that time. One of my top 5 favorites from Hilderbrand. A must read.

Good read

Nice, nostalgic read.

Meh

The book was just okay. Not very interesting. Not exciting. Just typical everyday people experiencing their ups and downs in life.

Finding ourselves

This is a great book about the experience of the summer of 69 as it was lived in Nantucket and Martha’s Vinyard. It was a different time. We were all looking in the other direction to see if what’s happening is happening around us. Times were changing and society was changing. Even on Nantucket and Martha’s Vinyard. This is not a political book just a good read of a slice of life during that summer when so many kids were struggling with the temptation to go the Woodstock.
