Read it over 25 years ago and still remember it.

I read this book when I was 9 or 10. It's a great adventure story, I remember the scene with the paperclip as a fish hook, and have a very definite picture in my head of the rescue scene to this day. It's been rereleased as "Terror On The Mountain." Note: it's listed above as a baby/preschool book, but it's actually grade level 3-7.

terror on the mountain

I enjoyed this book a lot because it had a good surprise in it. It was also easy to read and relate to. There are two major problems in the story that the main character has to overcome and he manages to do that. The story is about a boy named Paul who isn't good at sports or team sports because he is not strong. During the summer, he does jobs to get himself to become stronger but loses one of his every-other-day jobs. One day his parents commended him on his good work and reward him by letting him stay at camp. When he gets there he has a great time. On his last week of camp they take a trip to the Appalacian Mountains. Paul gets lost on the White Mountains in the Pemigewasset Wilderness of New Hampshire. While there, he has to survive and ends up turning a paper clip into a fishing hook, but the fishing hook gets caught and Paul has to go get it. How will he be able to survive? Will his hook work to catch fish?I would recommend this book to people who like reading interesting and adventurous books. I also think that people who just want to read an easy book should read this book because its not confusing either.
