Hilarious from Start to Finish

Few things seem to perplex heterosexual women more than the minds of men. Thanks to differences in the wiring of the brain as well as variations in social conditioning, men and women tend to perceive some things in remarkably different ways. Dating is, of course, no exception, which is why both men and women so often complain about how challenging it can be to understand the wants and needs of the opposite sex. Luckily, thanks to author Phil Torcivia, women now have a way to gain some insight into the minds of men while being thoroughly entertained in the process. In his book, Such a Nice Guy, Phil Torcivia offers one hilarious anecdote after the other about the dating adventures of a middle-aged, divorced man. Though he readily admits to having embellished the situations that he describes for dramatic effect, it seems fairly obvious that both his perspective and imagination hold some valuable clues about how men perceive dating, relationships, and the women that they encounter along the way. Though he touches upon a few subjects that are typically of a serious nature, such as infidelity, dissatisfying relationships, and emotional baggage, Torcivia puts such a humorous spin on each of them that his approach is sure to leave you tickled, if not laughing out loud altogether. Many of the stories in the book offer as much enlightenment as they do entertainment value. One such example can be found in a chapter titled, "If You Love Him, Leave for Him", wherein Torcivia makes a good case for why it is important to recognize when a relationship has run its course and to avoid staying with a partner for all the wrong reasons. Another memorable and amusing chapter in Torcivia's book is titled "How Do I Work You?" in which he makes a comical request for women to assist the men that they date by preparing instruction manuals that highlight their unique operating styles and tastes. In between insightful tidbits about how men think and what they want from women, Torcivia also includes a few stories that reveal quite a bit about his own personality and some of the things that make him tick, which I imagine can work both for and against him if any of his future dating candidates happen to have read his book. I honestly can't think of anything that I didn't like about Such a Nice Guy. It was a funny and informative glimpse into the minds of men that kept me highly entertained and allowed me to look at some common dating situations in a new, more comical light. While it is undoubtedly an entertaining read for both genders, I think women definitely stand to gain some valuable insights from this book. If you get a chance to pick up a copy of Such a Nice Guy, I highly recommend you do so.

Unusual insights into male and female dating motivations and habits.

Such a Nice Guy by Phil Torcivia presents a series of short stories and philosophical ramblings about men and women from a distinctively male/ male's view point of a females view. His stories are sometimes personal reflections, sometimes stories told to him or observed/overheard from others. Often they are astute observations of the world around him. However sometimes they are blatant fabrications which may also be accurate depictions of some people's world. The common thread is that they are all humorous and shed much accurate insight into the workings of one man's mind and the male mind in general. It is a very easy book to read and you can pick it up and start reading anywhere in the book and find fun and enjoyment. The book provides unusual insights into male and female dating motivations and habits. Although the stories center on a rather narrow part of society (middle aged people that go to bars) many of the insights apply to men and women throughout society. I recommend that you read this book with an open mind and a willingness to laugh at the world around you.

Astounding...page turner that will keep you laughing and learning...

This book is extremely well written. An easy read that will keep you turning the pages and you will end up finishing it in one sitting. For the guys...you will be histerical through it all and be talking about it while passing the book around to your buddies. For the gals...you will be histerical, a little bit shocked, maybe angry, but have learned a lot about how the male mind of a nice guy really works. And if we are honest with ourselves...he is pretty much on the mark with his portrayal of both men and women, equally fair in the comedy of relationships. The different reactions will fall upon the fact that men laugh easier at reality than most women. In fact, I believe this author gives one of the most..'it is what it is' outlooks on relationships, marriage and dating than most books out there on this subject. It is funny, shocking, eye opening, and real. It's a story about life. To put the book down and not finish it because you are put off by a few of the realities portrayed in some of the chapters is a mistake. If you take the time to read what the author is really relaying you will find he is actually not only nice, but considerate and has offered a realistic view of exactly what a nice guy is all about. There is no perfect out there and it is so much more fun to see the humor of it all than it is to pretend the truths portrayed about guys dont exists!! Hopefully all will see the incredible humor and maybe learn how to have a better relationship with your significant other by understanding them better and accepting that MEN!!...they will be what they will be... :-)! And we love them anyway!!! Well done, Phil! A+++++

Hilarious!

I absolutely loved this book from the first line! It is hilarious. No wonder the author's friends told him he should write a book. I wish I could meet this author. He must be a riot to hang out with. The book talks about all different situations. If you are a man reading this you may find yourself in the same predicaments and agree with the way the author thinks. It's fun to see where most men's minds are and where most women's minds are. It's very refreshing to learn what the men are truly thinking! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh and learn more about men--from a man's point of view.

Ten Stars!

Such a Nice Guy is a great book to read whether you are male or female. The author really knows what men are thinking and tells it in an entertaining way that you cannot help but laugh out loud! The author, Phil Torcivia, is giving away men's deep dark secrets! I recommend this book to every adult that likes to laugh. I am planning on giving this book as gifts for Christmas. I would give this book ten stars if five stars were not the limit.
