Pretty good

This was really good starting info for the French Chic/Chic & Slim/French Women Don't Get Fat group. I hope the next edition goes into much more info, with better illustrations (many of them were too low res to be clear).

Excellent style book. The best I have ever read.

I loved this book. I found it very user friendly. I saw the author on T.V. (Oprah, I think) and they were discussing the artistic layout of the book. The photos in the book used a technique called soft focus photography, which is what Glamour Shots uses. I would not have said the photos were blurry, just softened, definitely not for the non-creative types who hate art, but I thought it was a nice touch. The author was of course thin and drop-dead-gorgeous with the tiniest hint of a French accent, (she was raised in California) yet she seemed very modest and sweet. Not at all stuck-up and she comes across as sweet in the book. I thought it was cool that she featured real women (imperfections and all) instead of the standard flawless supermodels. It made me feel better about myself to see both thin and larger women praised for their chic style. The author has incredible style ideas, kind of a cross between Kimora Lee Simmons and Rachel Zoe with a Parisian/Californian twist. Everything from the clothing, diet advice, makeup, were very easy and work for the busy woman. I have been using the two minute make-up techniques everyday and I feel so much more put together. She showed clothing options that were both expensive (like from the Forum des Halles mall in Paris) to the inexpensive thrift stores. Things like "18 ways to play with the black dress" and were so useful. With the economy problems, it was refreshing to see stylish clothing that did not cost a fortune. I can understand that this book might not be for everyone, but for a middle aged, budding fashionista like me, it was perfect, yet my 24 year old daughter loves it too!

Love this book. Excellent advice

I have had this book for about a month and have already lost weight. I have also been updating my wardrobe. As a middle aged woman, I have struggled with my appearance for several years. This book made it easy for me to see where I had gone wrong and get back on track again. I loved that she used real people in the photos instead of the standard perfect looking supermodels. I mean, who can really look like that a supermodel? I keep referring back to this book because it puts me in such a good mood. I feel elegant again.

Best Style Book Ever

This is by far the most useful style book I have ever read. (I have read many) This book seems to be the most applicable towards real women. The author's delightful personality comes through in her book as she covers self-esteem, chic clothing, skin care, make up, and weight management. The thing is all of the things she describes are easy to achieve and take very little time. I can not believe there has never been a book like this before. I recommend this to any woman who is even slightly interested in her appearance. This book really does cover it all! And in such a positive way. I am buying copies for all the women I know for Christmas.
