When I found I needed to take a prealgebra class for nursing, I looked for the best reference book to accompany the Lial, Hestwood Prealgebra textbook. The title of another $30 book (Study Skills) caught my eye, but turned out to be a waste of money. This Solutions Manual, though, is everything I hoped it would be to help me get the most out of the class. spend your money instead on the Student's Solutions Manual by Jeffrey Cole. The Solutions Manual demonstrates how to do every problem in the textbook, not just provides the answers. This is not to shortcut homework; it is to be consulted/referred to after you have given your best effort, and to keep students on track. It is an outstanding reference book to accompany the text.
