I don't think Ms. Arnold has ever written a book that shouldn't be read. In this book, high school senior Mary Jo decides that she wants to get married to Jack, a young man in the Service. Her parents are against the idea, but they are determined and go through with it. Soon after the wedding, Mary Jo's lofty dreams of married life are dashed to pieces. When the reality sets in, the discontment comes with it. She didn't realize that she would spend hot, endless days in a tiny aparment by herself. She never imagined that she would miss her family so, and she never thought that being a wife would be so miserable! Feeling out of place, she goes home to visit and finds that she is even more out of place there. Life has gone on without her. She eventually grows up and things turn out right in the end.
