I can't say enough about this book and the fantastic story. It is funny as well as a great love story. I may be predjudice because I love reading about Selkies Torcuil is so sweet and so innocently unaware of how to act or what to do on land. Without Verity's help he would have really have had problems. A definite keeper and a recommended read. If you like Selkie stories too, try Christina Dodd's "A Well Favored Gentleman" The first I had read about them was hint of them in "Midnight Warrior" by Iris Johansen

Wow! One of the best romantic fantasy books I've read!

What can I say except - Wow! It is one of the best romantic fantasy books I've read in years... The hero, Torcuil cuts a dashing figure and he has a big unselfish heart too! Yeah, not to mention softhearted and gentle too! (Most heroes in such gothic romances appear like male chauvenistic pigs...if you know what I mean!). The heroine meanwhile, is strong, rich and appears selfless... Such characters - where to find these days??! Anyway, the storyline has some poignant moments too but the ending is just perfect... Most fantasy books I've read really tests one's intelligence. I'm glad in this respect, this author comes up with quite credible fantasy characters. Keep up the good work, Madam!
Fantastic fairy tale!

"Storm Prince" is written beautifully, full of charm and fascinating characters. Ms. Wilhelm is able to do what many authors cannot -- create a story that seamlessly blends fantasy and romance. Readers can't help but love the noble silkie warrior Torcuil MacCodrum.
Faery tale lovers -- rejoice!!

Silkies, faeries, and broonies. Stir these ingredients together with romance and Scotland, and you have a fresh mixture of historical romance. Ms. Wilhelm is to be commended for stepping out of the usual genre recipe for romances. Her tale of the silkie, Torcuil, and human, Verity, is full of the elements that mark a good novel. It's lively dialogue and humor ("Try the ham." "Salt" "That's the way it was cured." "Was it sick?") and great story line (romance + love = frustration) will keep the reader turning the pages, sorry to see the story end, and hoping Ms. Wilhelm will write more of the same
