Legendary FBI undercover agent Thomas McShane is one of the world's foremost authorities on the billion-dollar art theft business, and here he presents a unique memoir that provides a thrilling ride through the underworld of stolen art and historical artifacts. His expertise and indefatigable determination prompted FBI Director William H. Webster to name McShane as the Senior Investigator of the FBI's expanding Art Squad.
Having been in law enforcment, I really enjoyed the stories of Mr. McShane's adventures recovering fabulous art works. Try it, you'll like it!

A great read, I literally devoured this book. McShane makes for both a interesting character and good author, cleverly weaving in and out of back story and action. I am into FBI/CIA books and movies, so if you liked 'The Good Shepard', this is the type of story you will be into. I gave it five stars for a reason....I liked it....ALOT.
Very very entertaining..

The stories contained in this book tell us the Author McShane has led an extraordinary life. Its a truly entertaining read, and for a first time author like McShane although some minor grammatical imperfections pop-up these can be easily excused, once one learns the details of these art heists and how he helped the FBI get to the bottom of them. In fact I found it hard to put this book down..probably most entertaining read I've picked up in the last 2 years.
Very interesting read

I absolutely loved this book. No problems dealing with the misspellings and typos due to the fast paced nature of the read. I finished this book in 2 days and found myself chuckling at the sometimes over the top antics of McShane's alter egos. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in reading about the life of an undercover FBI agent.
A lot of fun, and educational too!

This book was so much fun to read. It is a shame that there are numerous spelling and grammatical oversights, but it was still very worth reading. I learned a lot about how one authenticates masterpieces from great artists. Mr. McShane's genuine love and enthusiasm for undercover work, and also art, are clearly represented in the retellings of the various cases he was involved with in his long, illustrious career. You will learn how art theft criminals operate and try and "fence" their stolen goods. If you are a fan of those CSI shows, and also art history, you will not be sorry you chose this book, I promise! You don't see many like this out on the market.
