A Book Review

Step Forth Mallory By: Laurie Friedman is a book about a girl named Mallory who breaks a lot of rules. She just started fourth grade, so her dad tells her to step into fourth grade. On the first day of school, Mallory breaks rule number one. She said, "It is just my first day. It is okay." All the other days she keeps breaking the rules. When she breaks them she keeps forgetting what the rules were. So when it is recess, she barely even gets to go play because the teacher always has to talk to her. When Mallory has broken all the rules she feels bad. When she comes home every day, her mom feels bad, too. Worst of all she got caught in a lie. She let people think she had won a Fashion Fran Design Contest, although she really didn't. She didn't know how to get out of the lie. She always wanted it to be the best year ever. When her mom found out , she told Mallory to tell the class she really didn't when the contest. When she told the class, they didn't wont to be her friend any longer because she told a lie. The next two days her friends still didn't wont to be her friend, but eventually she asked them if they wanted to go skate boarding, and they became friends again. Mallory is my favorite character, and i like when her friends forgave her. I really enjoyed this book and I believe fourth and fifth grade girls should read this book.
