Starlight Goes to Town

Starlight is a chicken living on a farm with big dreams. Her dream is to make it big as a model. The other hens make fun of her and do not understand why she isn't happy with the life she has. One night, Starlight's fairy-god mother pays her a visit. She tells Starlight that whatever she wants all she has to do is wish for it and it will appear in a large egg. She leaves her farm life behind, heads for the big city, but never really makes it as a top model. She wishes for her own house and makes a living by wishing for things and then selling them at yard sales. George Booth's illustrations are wonderful, fun and imaginative. The book has a cute story line and is great entertainment, especially for any little girl with big dreams. Reviewed by Jennifer LeBrun
