Exactly what I want from a tie-in!

Wow, what a great book. I mean it. Exactly what I missed in the latest two tie-ins (#10 and #11) - there was team adventure and friendship, not just nonsensical action and things going boom. I loved that not just the team - John, Rodney, Ronon and Teyla - had something to do, but also Elizabeth, Zelenka, Lorne, Carson, Caldwell and Halling. Saving Atlantis was a real team effort. I admit that the solution had a bit of a "deus ex machina" feel to it, but they did mostly use techniques applied in various SG-1 and SGA episodes and that was pretty neat. I would love to read more books written by these two authors! I enjoy their portrayal of our favorite heroes.

Deserves more than 5 stars - every fan of SGA needs to read this book!

Wow is the first thing that comes to mind. I was totally surprised at just how good this was. I've read books before that are based on TV or Movies, and they're usually ok. This blew me away - better than the tv shows and other books I've read so far. If this could be made into an episode it would really be something amazing. The characterization is just wonderful, especially Rodney - some of the writing brought tears to my eyes and anyone who knows me knows that's not easy to do. The new characters that are brought in are very well written, and really bring a lot to the story - they are not just background scenery. The interpersonal interactions between all the main characters, as well as some of the secondary characters, were so dead on and made this story so much more real than any of the episodes I've seen or books I've read in the SGA-verse so far. The plot is definitly intriguing and keeps you guessing all they way through to the very end. Once you think you have it figured out you're surprised again and again. It's hard for me to even discuss as I just finished it last night and I'm kind of digesting the story still. And I'm not gushing just because I'm a fan of SGA. I read a lot books in a variety of genres from sci-fi to classics. I'm very well versed in literature and writing in general. This book IS that good. Every fan of SGA must read this book! Even if you aren't a fan of novels based on tv shows, you won't regret reading this one - and if you don't you would certainly regret it if you knew what you were missing out on.

Another great book by these two authors!

This second collaboration between Sonny Whitelaw and Elizabeth Christensen is more exhilarating than the first. Exogenesis engulfs us into a world most of us are already familiar with, though I believe this story is able to stand on its own. With a few references from past SGA episodes as well as SG1 Episodes, the plotline constantly moves as the team is split up to handle their respective situations serving one greater goal. The setting has a much larger scope in this storyline as the SGA crew set out to save the entire Pegasus galaxy. The character personalities and interaction are dead on. We even get to see a side of McKay that doesn't reveal itself too much. We also get a rare view of the Ancients and find out how "human" they really are. The story explores the impact on a society when their beliefs are shattered in almost an instant. While this society is dealing with this, at the same time they have to avoid becoming the next meal of the Wraith. I would highly recommend any book by either of these two. Their grasp on this wordly concept is phenomenal. It's as if they are writers for the actual show. Sonny and Elizabeth, I can't wait for the next one.
