TENDER ROMANCE? Almost too tender. Not quite real. Jessica Donovan is the youngest of the Donovan sister. She had also been emotionally abused by her father, Kelly. She seems to have an affinity with plants and raises Orchids for their essence. That is the business that she developed while living in Canada. After eight years of a tortureous marriage to Carl Roman she finally called it quits when he practically killed her. Moyra, a jaguar priestess, was sent to protect her until she was able to go home. There, a man of darkness, would be her protector. Dan Black, an ex-Recon Marine, had been severely wounded in his tour overseas. The killing and lose of his group of men preyed on his mind, driving him to drink to deaden his memories. He became known for his drunken brawls. Dan was hired by Sam and Kate to work with Gan, the 20 year old black Arabian stallion who hated men making the stallion somewhat dangerous. Dan and Jessica formed a strong attachment to each other. Neither wanted to admit to it. Although Jess's waryness around Dan and his very hesitant manner with her was understandable, it became a bit too soft. Their attitudes were in keeping with their wounded souls, but just too, too. It took over three quarters of the book for them to vent their feelings and not too much strong passion [in emotions] and when Jessica is kidnapped we finally get some action. And strong emotion. Of course, Chet and Bo Cunningham from the neighboring ranch had to put in their two cents of stirring up trouble but it was a good introduction to their younger brother, Jim who apparently teams up with Rebecca in the next book, THE COUGAR. A pleasent read if you can stand emotionally wounded people who have just about given up. [grin] sounds like their mating is going to bring about some results. Written in flowery prose just a little too tender but hey, who am I to complain.

AN IRRESISTIBLE WOMAN She was the youngest Donovan sister. An innocent beauty whose sweet, trusting nature had once opened her heart to hurt. AN UNTAMEABLE MAN He was a loner. A man more comfortable around horses than people. A wrangler with a gift for taming even the most savage stallion on the Donovan ranch. A FATEFUL WEDDING When Jessica Donovan came face-to-face with Dan Black, her every feminine instinct told her the rugged ranch hand was the man who could heal her wounded heart and make her homecoming complete. But first she had to show the brooding cowboy the soothing strength of a woman's touch and prove that she was indeed his destiny.
