This anecdotal book illustrates specialized tactics and entertains readers with great ideas, diagrams, and strategies for calling and taking all four subspecies of wild turkey. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Michael Hanback's "Spring Gobbler" can be described as the essential "how to" manual on turkey hunting. It is great for beginners, but advanced hunters will learn from it as well. I find myself going back over it again and again. Keep a highligher handy too, because you'll want to mark up all the good information. It's that good.
Best turkey hunting book I have read

I have read a lot of books, magazines, and articles on turkey hunting. I have to say this is by far the best I have come across. The advice and strategies mentioned in this book are great for use in the field. Most books waste the experienced hunter's time with very basic information. This book doesn't do that. I will be reading this book every year in preparation for turkey season.
Spring Gobbler Fever

By far and away the most informative book on the subject and also the best bang for the buck. I have read 4 large books on this subject and this is the best. Great for the beginner and intermediate hunter. Does not waste your time with a lot of senseless, personal stories that are not educational.
This is a GREAT hunting book! Very inspirational.

I started reading this book because I was curious about turkey hunting and wanted to learn more. Hanback seems to cover every aspect of turkey hunting, from scouting to camo to calls to turkey guns. And his hunting experience examples read like a novel. This is the first "hunting book" that I actually could not put down. I wish he would write one about whitetail hunting! (Fall Whitetail Fever, maybe).
Excellent for the novice or for the expert.

This is an excellent book for all levels of Turkey hunters. It is very informative and covers all aspects of Turkey hunting. The author knows what he is talking about and he explains in depth how to call, when to call, where to call from, and how to react to every possible situation you will encounter in Turkey hunting.I recommend this book to whoever has hunted or has thought about hunting the american Wild Turkey.
