We originally borrowed a copy of this book from the library, and we have since bought two as gifts and one for our family. The story is so sweet and gentle while dealing with the “love and loss” and responsibility of caring for animals. It is a perfect early glimpse into the facets of life. (I’m sorry, that’s so corny. But it’s true.) Oh, and the art is beautiful!
