You won't be disappointed with this one!!!

Beverly Jenkins has done it again! I pre-ordered this book as a few months ago and I practically ripped open the package when it finally arrived. This book was definately written for readers who have read Night Song, Topaz, The Taming of Jesse Rose, and Always and Forever. We are given the treat of catching up on some of our old friends (Cara and Chase Jefferson, Dixon Wildhorse, Sophie and Asa, The Spinsters, Jackson and Griffin Blake, Preacher, and of course the Terrible Twins. This story centers on Olivia Sterling and Neil July. Neil was first introduced to us in The Taming of Jesse Rose as one of the Terrible Twins. The main thing I liked about their story is that it's believable. I could feel the growing attraction coming through the pages. My favorite scenes are "in the cellar" and "late night ride". There are also two bad guys in this story that do their part to make everything come together. I also didn't feel too bad when I finished the book. I believe we may see Teresa again in her own book since she's only 19 in this one and has room for alot of character development. Will she continue to be an outlaw or fall in love and give it all up? Also, you may catch another foreshadowing line in there about the other characters that were brought back. I won't give it away here, you'll have to read it for yourself. Enjoy!

BEVERLY YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!!

Ms Jenkins has once again written a great story. Her combination of history, romance and comedy is unrivaled. I loved this book and read it in five hours. This is the story of outlaw Neil July and Olivia Sterling. She is escaping an arranged marriage and he is a train robbing outlaw. I loved how Ms. Jenkins brought back a lot of her characters, Chase & Cara Jefferson, Dixon Wildhorse, Jackson Blake, Griffin Blake, The Preacher and Two Shafts from previous novels. I felt like I was there in the story and seeing old friends. Ms Jenkins also has a very skilled way of writing love scenes which are not obsence or disgusting. Beverly I had the pleasure of meeting you in New York 2004 at the Sistah's Sippin Tea Book Club Sistah Weekend. You were very warm and gracious...just one of the girls enjoying the weekend with us. I also appreciated you signing all my copies of your books. I wish you continued success and can't wait for the release of your next novel. You can't write them fast enough for me!

BEVERLY JENKINS HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!

I have been a fan of Ms. Jenkins for many years. I have read several of her books more than once and after having read "Something Life Love," I am about to go back and re-read "Always and Forever," "The Taming of Jessi Rose," and "Topaz." I was introduced to Ms. Jenkins at least 10 years ago through my best friend with "Night Song," and subsequently became a die-hard BJ fan. Although I don't yet own "Night Song," I'm putting in an order for it right now so that I can re-read it, too. With "Something Like Love" she has once again created characters that one cannot help but love. Despite Neil July's unlawful profession, he is quite a man, and Olivia Sterling is the type of woman I would be proud to call my friend. Ms. Jenkins' stories never fail to make me laugh out loud, cry tears of joy and cheer loudly for the always superb ending. If you've never read any of her books, pick any one -- I guarantee you will not be disappointed. She is a dynamic story teller as well as an informative history teacher. Always rich with historical content, Ms. Jenkins will leave you satisified with the knowledge she has imparted about the history of "the race" as well as by the moving and always sensual romance shared by her heroes and heroines. "Something Like Love" is a wonderful, exciting and heart-warming novel by the best darned historical romance writer I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I look forward to meeting her one day so I can tell her so in person.

Good Girl... Bad Boy... Great Story

This is one of Mrs. Jenkins best work to date. I really enjoyed the Edge of Dawn, but I enjoyed this even more. The main characters intrigue you from the very beginning but I really fell in love with the supporting characters. The town of Henry Adams became very real to me and it was like I lived there. Any author that can do that is absolutely awesome. Kendy Ward

Beverly is The Bomb!

This is one of her best stories! If you are a Beverly Jenkins fan or you just love a great story, then this is the book for you. I loved the book from the beginning till the end. The story is about outlaw Neil July and the mayor of a small Kansas town, Olivia Sterling. Olivia "runs away" from her home in Chicago to escape an arranged marriage by her father. Olivia first encounter with Neil is on her way to Kansas and he robs the train. I am not going to give away the story, so purchase this book and enjoy. Carol
