Some of the Things I Did Not Do: Stories

In this collection of short stories, several are of note. 1 - - Love and Other Lessons - - A young woman who is poor, southern, uneducated and has had a child out of wedlock, is drawn to a priest and she falls in love with him. 2 - - The Courtship of the Thin Girl - - A young doctor gets into a relationship with a woman who he can tell was once anorexic. 3 - - Inventing the Kiss - - Two teenagers get together after being apart. The boy has found God. The girl would like a more physical relationship. 4 - - A New Life - - This is my favorite story in the collection. It is about a young widow who helps her friend by baby sitting her friend's lover's child while they have their trysts. When her friend is ditched by her lover, the lover comes on to the widow. 5 - - Some of the Things I Did Not Do - - A young man's mother burns herself up to escape the torment of her mental illness. The young man is not too upset. Overall, this is a very satisfying collection of stories.
