W. Cleon Skousen's "So You Want to Raise a Boy" is an excilent guide to parents with boys. My mother used the book as an aid in raising me and I and my wife have used it in raising our two sons. It gives a clear picture of the healthy development of a boy from birth to age 21. In the book, Skousen, a former police chief and FBI man, also talks about the mistakes that can be made along the way. As a specialist in juvenile delequency and a successful parent of 5 boys and 3 girls, Skousen shows both the right things to do and the mistakes that are made by all too many.

Skousen truely knows what boys do. We have had So You Want To Raise A Boy on our shelves for over 20 years and refer to it regularly. When times are tough and I can't figure things out with my son, I go to "The Book" and Skousen helps me understand the characteristics of my son at his particular stage of development.Year by year he tells me about the traits and characteristics of a baby, boy and then a young man. His advice is right on and has made our life much better. Four are grown and beginning families of their own and we are still good friends.
