Discovering What You Missed...

As you read this book, you go through every emotion that there is, whether it is happy, sad, laughing, or crying. When you are done, the book leaves you feeling forfilled about all the wonderful expierences the author had to offer about his snapshots of heaven. The wonderful part about this book is that the book doesn't have to just be about the authors kids, it could be about anyones children. It truely was an amazing book. It explored what life has to offer and how wonderful it is to have children teach you things that as you grow up, you miss because being an adult makes you overlook the little things in life. Everyone should take some time out and read this book, it truely made me realize that it doesnt matter how old someone is, listent to them, because they might actually teach you something.

A reminder to cherish and enjoy children

Reviewed by Kelli Glesige for Reader Views (4/06) Children are really angels in disguise, teaching us lessons of love if we will listen. However, most of us are too busy to listen, spending our days living our lives and dealing with our problems. And just as we may be planning an outing with our children, we also may unfortunately find out that the kids have grown into teens and no longer want to go. "Snapshots of Heaven" encourages us to record our personal snapshot of heaven story. The initials of Snapshots of Heaven (SOH) also mean that children Save Our Hearts every day. This book is a wake-up call to remind us to cherish the treasures we have at hand. Michael Wells says, "A child's magic seems to be their ability to bring us way back, to when we were like them and free. If God intended us to have a heart, children must have been the reason." Author Michael Wells, a lifelong resident of Montreal, Canada, is happily married to his American wife of 18 years, Laure, and they are the parents of 15 year old Jeremy and 13 year old Jenna. Michael has played an active role in both his children's lives, and "Snapshots" describes many memorable moments he has shared over the years with his family. The book is conveniently divided into three sections. Section one is aptly named Everyday Lessons, and Wells shares precious moments from a day-to-day perspective. Section two is called Special Occasions which brings to mind a holiday, special event or memorable vacation. My favorite section is the third, entitled Growing Up. Wells reflects on how quickly our children grow up and change, yet how emotions and feelings from the heart remain the same. At the end of each section is a space to insert our own actual photograph and journal entry to record. It is my opinion you will enjoy "Snapshots of Heaven," and it will remind you to cherish and enjoy your own children. Hold them close, laugh with them, and never stop saying "I love you." As adults, we take life so seriously and worry about so many problems. At the end of the day, Wells encourages us to leave the battlefield of our lives and immerse ourselves in the precious, fleeting moments we can share with our children. Each chapter of "Snapshots of Heaven" is a story in itself, a moment in time Wells wants to remember and share. You can begin or end at any chapter in the book, but I suggest reading the entire book. My hunch is that you will be reminded of a special moment you have shared with a special child. I recommend reading "Snapshots of Heaven"! A child's innocence and imagination is a precious thing and we can all benefit from the lessons a youngster can give us. They help us put life and living in perspective, and to recognize what is truly important in life. Only too often, we miss these moments of reality and loveliness. If you have children of any age, you should enjoy "Snapshots of Heaven." If your children are young, you may be reminded to treasure each day and to be

Snapshots of Heaven

There are moments in life we take for granted, but if we examine them closer, we will find they were moments of absolute truth when the greatest life lessons were learned. In 'Snapshots of Heaven: 40 Funny, Profound, Real-Life Stories About Children,' author Michael Wells says these moments come from our children, who are angels in disguise, teaching us lessons of love. Wells shares 40 stories from his own experiences as the father of a son and daughter. He urges other parents to slow down from their busy lives and take note of the moments when they received 'snapshots of heaven' from their children. He says the initials from the title also point to another key thing our children do for us: Save Our Hearts. Through our interactions with them, our children remind us of why we live, love and laugh. While the individual stories from his own family are entertaining and joyful, Wells doesn't stop there. He encourages readers to cherish their children and create their own snapshots. After each section of the book, a space is provided for parents to paste in a picture and write their own story about everyday lessons they learned from their children, special occasions and growing up. The stories are short and to the point. In each, Wells succinctly recounts a moment from his life as a parent in which he learned a profound life lesson. Each story also contains a relatable moral truth. These stories are easy to read and can be enjoyed quickly during a few moments of reflection. Wells reminds us that our children are treasures and we should learn from their wisdom. While we often think of adults as the ones with the life experience needed to teach children, 'Snapshots of Heaven' reminds us that it can often be the other way around. Our life experiences frequently leave us jaded, cynical and looking around the corner for the next big thing. We can end up neglecting the most important aspects of our lives and ignoring the moments that should mean the most to us. 'Snapshots of Heaven' is a delightful glimpse into these moments in one father's life and will have readers recalling their own memories of the children who have touched them. The stories within the pages of this book will make their way into your heart and soul. You will find yourself returning to them when you're in need of a little hope and inspiration, or just to put a smile on your face.

I think this book was really good because it's fun to hear stories about other peoples life. I know michael wells very well and I never knew he would become such an amazing author to write such an interesting book! I think that it is very interesting that someone could remember all those stories from along time ago. i think that alot of people should read this book!!

Shapshots from a friend

I actually know Michael Wells, because he's my best friend Jenna's father. I'm actually in the book, in the story called the giggles, where my name is mentioned (my name is Kira). I love the book and would recommend everyone everywhere to buy it. Michael is truly such a nice guy, who writes as nice as he is a good father. Jenna and Jeremy Wells are truly lucky. The book is best from ages 5 to 95 :) Truly inspirational book.. 2 big kid thumbs up xox
