Seawolf

(Book #2 in the The Sixth Fleet Series)

Embroiled in an all-out war in the Mediterranean Sea, the Sixth Fleet finds itself being slowly taken apart by the enemy. Hope appears in the form of reinforcements--a fully armed task force led by the carrier Stennis. But the new battle group must first face its own test under fire by fighting its way past the gates of the enemy in the hellish Straits of Gibraltar.

Been there......

I enjoyed this book very much. The primary reason is that the author's knowledge and experience in the Navy are reflected in his style of writing. He provides insight into the day-to-day, almost minute by minute tempo of military operations. He does not overwhelm the reader with technical jargon, but explains what is happening in a manner that draws the reader into believing that he or she is in the same environment as the characers in the book.As a naval aviation veteran, I was pleased to see the detail he puts into his stories - several times I was caught up in the story line and remembered details about being part of a multi-crew aircraft that I thought I had forgotten. For those of us who have served, that is a powerful stimulant.I found that this book, as well as the first in the series, was very difficult to put down at night. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series, as well as earlier novels by Dave Meadows that I have missed.

The Tom Clancy of the 21st Century

David Meadows is clearly the Tom Clancy of the new century. His knowledge of the Sixth Fleet and the countries of the Med is clearly evident on every page! Moreover, his characters are realistic three dimensional folks that draw you into the story. I am a Navy Reservist and I found these books impossible to put down. I highly recommend the Sixth Fleet series and his new Joint Task Force series to anyone who likes a great, action packed military story!

Another Great Sea Yarn!

Once again, I was captivated by Dave Meadows and his Sixth Fleet series. Like his first book, I couldn't put this one down. If he wrote more books I'd never get anything else done.

Seawolf, WOW

David Meadows first book was good, and sorry, not really worth writing home about, though I really liked it. This one is so much better. The characters and plot were brought together seamlessly. I was actually in tears while one our ships was sunk.If the next installment is as good, I'll read through it just as fast. Keep them coming. Tom Clancy doesn't have a chance.

The Sixth Fleet;Seawolf

David Meadows has packed an incredible amount of action, technology, heroism, politics and evil doers into his second book. Tom Clancy should take some notes, it makes Op-Center look like a Dick and Jane primer. Captain Meadows really knows what he's writing about, I can't wait for his next book.
