A very good read. Ryan and his group end up near Moscow in an old American embassy. However, the gateway is damaged, and they require some tools which they don't have to return to the Deathlands. Ryan, Kristy, and a character introduced in the previous novel go to Moscow in the hopes of finding the necessary equipment to fix the gate.
