Conclusion to a Fab Series!

In Jenna Mills' Midnight series surrounding the Fontenot / Robichaud family tragedies set in the Louisiana bayous, the author has threaded the mystery and disappearance of Camille Fontenot. Was she dead or alive? Here now, in SINS OF THE STORM, you have the dynamite and thrilling romantic suspense finale featuring the author's trademark steamy bayou sensuality, answers revealing family secrets of treachery and betrayal, and an emotional redemption of lost souls. Years after her father's murderer was arrested, Camille Fontenot, hiding and living as the award winning true-crime writer Cameron Monroe, is coming home. Her main purpose was to expose and publish the truth of what happened the night of the storm when her father was murdered. Camille wanted justice but also knew she had to avoid the one man who'd broken her heart, Sheriff Jacques Savoie. Jack, the man who'd always protected her, and if he was aware of the dangerous path she was treading as she searched for the truth, he would feel compelled to stop her. When they came face to face, both fought the emotions that broiled to the surface, both fought the demons of heart break - but neither could fight the passions that burst from within. Wow, talk about wounded souls, Camille's emotions had been shredded. Witnessing her father's murder at such an impressionable age had truly traumatized her. What was worse, was the fact that when she tried to tell people what she knew, no one truly believed her thinking them the ramblings of the traumatized child. Threatened and chased away by the person responsible for the crime, Cami had lived a life in exile away from close family ties, the home she loved and the childhood sweetheart she'd given her heart to. She wanted vindication for her father's death and she vowed to see justice served. The author made this a truly emotional tale with both the leads. Cami realized she must keep her presence under wraps, knew how much it would hurt to see Jack again. What she hadn't expected was to see was how broken in spirit he was, and how a tour of duty in Iraq along with his wife's death had left him with both physical and emotional scars. Finally as Jack and Cami teamed up to forage out the truth of long ago, they began the path to rediscover not only the love they'd left behind but to heal each other's scars from the blows life had dealt them. Mill's writes a powerful and sensual tale as steamy as the Louisiana bayou. Her characters are richly detailed and the entire story packs an emotionally charged punch. Don't miss the heart-wrenching reunion of Cami and her brother Gabe, but be forewarned to have some tissues handy. SINS OF THE STORM is both an exceptional stand-alone as well as a fitting finale to a fabulous series I highly recommend. Marilyn Rondeau, for www.ck2skwipsandkritiques.com

Cajon-style!

Fourteen years ago, little Camille "Cami" Fontenot saw her father, Troy, gunned down. Trouble always seemed to follow Cami. No one honestly believed Cami had witnessed Troy's death or that she had been chased by the killer as she fled Whispering Oaks, her home. Then she disappeared without a word to anyone. Cami had very good reasons to disappear and to never attempt to contact anyone. Now, with word that her father's murderer, Marcel Lambert, arrested, Cami could go home. For the past fourteen years Cami had gone by the name Cameron Monroe, now a famous true-crime writer, and had lived on the other side of the country. Cami returned to Louisiana, determined to publicize her own past within her next true-crime novel. Finally, Cami could close all the doors she had left open from her childhood. It was easy until she crossed paths with Sheriff Jacques "Jack" Savoie of Bayou d'Espere. He had broken her heart before. She refused to let Jack know that she still had any feelings left for him. Jack had been in boot camp when Cami disappeared and unable to help search for her. Jack had seen what obsession did to people - just look at Troy Fontenot and his own father. They had been obsessed with a stained glass window, a religious artifact believed to be only a legend. Troy had given his life for the artifact. Less than a week later, his own father had walked out of a bar, never to be seen again. Jack would never let himself become like those two men. But when it came to little Cami, Jack had always been her protector. So when Cami suddenly showed up at Whispering Oaks, Jack was equally relieved and furious. If he had any idea of the danger which stalked Cami, he would stop her search for the truth. ***** This is the third novel in the Midnight Secrets trilogy. The first book is titled THE PERFECT STRANGER (Silhouette # 1461). The second book is titled A LITTLE BIT GUILTY (Silhouette # 1468). I must say that Cami and Jack's story closes the circle very well indeed. The evil inside, but unblemished outside, of Marcel Lambert's character has been the perfect villain throughout the entire trilogy. Author Jenna Mills can certainly make a villain that readers love to hate. That is talent, readers! I have grown to love these Cajon nights of intrigue. I eagerly await for the next romantic suspense by Jenna Mills. I am hoping it will be the first of another trilogy. Jenna Mills creates magic, Cajon-style! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

The final chapter in the sexy series

A few years after Camille Fontenot witnessed her father's murder (which was declared a suicide), she disappeared without a trace and reinvented herself as true crime author Cameron Monroe. When she discovers that crooked restaurateur and philanthropist Marcel Lambert has finally been brought down (by her DA brother no less), Camille secretly returns to the bayou, where she is caught breaking into her ancestral home by former flame (and now sheriff) Jack Savoie. Camille is the girl he has tried to forget, and the woman he can't help but want. But can they forget the past and forge ahead? The final installment in Mill's great Robichaud/Fontenot series is a sexy and engaging thriller, but it is missing a key character from its predecessor - her brother Gabe, who only appears briefly, almost as an after thought. But Mills is great at weaving intricate tales, and though this one is dependent on "A Little Bit Guilty," her writing and ability to plot a good old fashioned romantic suspense (with two very charismatic characters) makes this one a keeper.

We finally have the story we've all been waiting for - Cami's tale

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques A CK2S Recommended Read Fans of the Robichaud and Fontenot clans, be they new or old, will be thrilled to finally have the story we've all been waiting for - Cami's tale - in Sins of the Storm. After fourteen years in self-imposed exile to protect her family, Camille Fontenot can finally come home. Her father's murderer has been arrested at last and now maybe people will believe her story. She has returned as Cameron Monroe, true crime writer extraordinaire, to tell the truth in her latest book. But all is not as it seems, when she discovers maybe it still isn't safe in the bayou. Sheriff Jacques "Jack" Savoie spent several years in the military, at war, until an injury ended his military career. Now his goal is to keep his sleepy hometown of Bayou d'Espere safe from crime. He also came home to forget... to forget his failed marriage, his lost career as a soldier. Unfortunately for him, coming home also means facing memories of his past, not the least of which appears out of nowhere one rainy night, after fourteen lost years. Thrown into each other's paths once more, Cami and Jack find those long buried emotions come storming to the forefront, like the hurricanes that often strike the coast. Powerful enemies do not want the truth to come out and will go to any lengths to bury their secrets. Cami and Jack must team up to ensure justice is served and mysteries unveiled. Maybe the real mystery... that of a fabled miracle-working stained glass window that is at the heart of everything... will finally be answered. And maybe Jack and Cami can finally put their demons to rest and rejoice in the love they've always shared but long denied. Be prepared to be emotionally swept away upon the Sins of the Storm. Suspenseful, mysterious, romantic and pulse pounding, this book is a pure adrenaline rush from beginning to end. We may have known some of the story from as far back as Killing Me Softly, but finally here, we get all the answers. My biggest question all along, even more so than what happened to Cami (after all I had faith Jenna Mills would give us a book worthy of this wounded heroine), was what really happened to that piece of stained glass, referenced at least a tiny bit in each story. I am happy to report I knew at least part of that answer all along. There are also a few twists thrown into the mix, which made me gasp in surprise as they were revealed. Jack and Cami make quite a team as they face the past and present together to see the truth set free. Jack has his own personal ties to that long ago horror and he too needed to find the answers before he could ever be free of the stigma he imagines on his family name. He also has more recent struggles to face, like the destruction of his marriage and the later death of his wife. His wife never belonged in Louisiana and he felt as though he let her down by abandoning her there to go off to war in Iraq, only to come home a broken man. It is only Cami's accep
