Illus. in full color. Sam, a frisky puppy, runs away from his disinterested owner. But when Sam turns out to have hidden talents, the spoiled boy wants Sam back.
My granddaughters loved having this book read to them until they could read it themselves. I have admit this is one the cutest books and have good morale to the story! Just an adorable book! About the 3rd time I've ordered as I keep finding kids that need a wonderful book to read! (I always keep my own as I am a kid at heart)!

Very good book for K-2 children

Singing Sam describes a boy who was spoiled by his parents, and a girl who loved Sam the dog just the way he was. My 6 year old son loved reading this book. We discussed why the spoiled boy behaved that way, and what his parents could have done to help him to be less self-centered. This book can lead to a lot of good discussions on how we should treat other people and pets. The book was easy enough for K-2 to read by themselves (maybe with a little help for the younger ones), yet it's well written enough to be read aloud.
