A top pick and very highly recommended read

When life goes sour, a return to family may be all you have to stay afloat. "Sing" tells a story of three different lives of the St. Clair family in the later half of the nineteenth century. One faces a harsh winter of Colorado, another faces the scams and subterfuge of Paris, and yet another loses his boxing career to be forced to work on a ship. With no where to turn, they start on the long journey home, hoping family will deliver them from the crisis they face. "Sing" is a top pick and very highly recommended read.

SING by Lisa T. Bergren

Don't you just love to read a "fun fiction" book and realize that you're actually learning? In the story of SING, the three St. Claire siblings are each in a different part of the world. Each has an adventure but circumstances cause all three to seek the shelter of the ranch in Colorado. As the old saying goes, "There's no place like home." And that is exactly where each sibling feels he needs to be. Feeling desperate but not without hope all three seeks a way to return to Colorado. The journey of Moira, as well as, Nic (Dominic) is a well plotted story. Adventure, cunning, and hope bring a fresh feel that as a christian we can SING in the midst of our trials! Truly an enjoyable read! Learning about Colorado and traveling to Paris and Brazil was an added bonus! This is a five star read for my book case! Anticipating the next novel, CLAIM, due out June 1!

Sing Out Lot That It's BETTER Than Breathe!

Dare I say it? Dare I say that SING is even better than BREATHE?? Hmm.......yes I must! SING is BETTER than BREAHTE! Book 2 in The Homeward Trilogy, Sing brings us right back into the wonderful lives of Odessa and her husband Byrce, her sister Moira, and her brother Domonik, with a few other wonderfully created characters. This book had me hooked from the beginning. Transported back into time, again, I loved how the siblings were all in different parts of the world this time but still depended on each other in times of need. Full yet again, with page-turning mystery, romance and relying on God, this book is, as I said above, even better than BREATHE-and BREATHE was EXCELLENT!!! So, SING is definitely on my bookshelf right next to BREATHE-permenantly. If you love history, mystery and the love of God, this is a 5 star book that you MUST read!! I am anxiously awaiting the sure-to-be skillfully written conclusion to the Trilogy in the release of CLAIM! Well done, again, Lisa!!

Great, great, great! Read number one and then...SING!

Readers were introduced to the St. Clair family in the first book of this fascinating trilogy titled, Breathe. Following this first journey of suspense, we begin in the 19th century with Moira St. Clair. Moira is a hugely popular opera singer in the luxurious opera houses of Paris. As we come upon her, standing in the local banking establishment, Moira finds out that her accounts have been siphoned off by her manager - who has run away with a new woman who he's fallen in love with. Moira is devastated and decides to go first to London, to escape the embarrassment and find a new audience to be beloved by, and then, when that falls through, she finds herself heading home to America on a ship that's also playing host to two men. One man is named Gavin; Gavin is a handsome "player-type" whose main goal is to start-up businesses and make a fortune. In Moira's eyes he sees a stunning singer who could take over the US of A and rake in the cash. The other man on board, Daniel Adams, is also quite taken with Moira but doesn't want her to know his real identity. In Rio, Dominic (Nic) St. Clair has gone from the ring - where he lost a fight - into servitude aboard a ship. Against his will he must become part of the crew in order to pay the Captain back the money he lost wagering on Nic to beat his opponent in the match. The ship is tossed and turned one night at sea and wrecks - washing Nic and his only friend from the ship, William, onto a deserted beach where Nic must find his way back to America. The last St. Clair - Odessa - is happily ensconced with her husband Bryce McAllan in the Colorado countryside. Their new son, Samuel, is with them, and their family is thriving until a huge winter storm hits the Circle M ranch and takes the lives of over 50 of their prized horses. They must find a way to support themselves through the coming months without the benefit of being able to sell their stock. Soon, Robert McAllan, Bryce's brother, comes for a visit. Not only is Robert mother's favorite and a wonderful businessman, he is also a man who finds himself unbelievably attracted to Odessa. One more piece of the puzzle is Reid Bannock. Reid was completely in love with Moira St. Clair, and tried to find a way to discover the Spanish conquistador gold bars that are buried somewhere near Odessa St. Clair's ranch in Colorado. Because of his past actions - when this novel opens - Reid is part of a chain gang in Canon City, Colorado, where he is waiting for trial: Dreaming of the gold; missing Moira; and, despising Dominic St. Clair - the brother who stood between them. Every once in a while you receive a book where every page is an adventure, filled with memorable characters and dialogue. Like Danielle Steel - the great "saga" authoress - Ms. Bergren has the ability to offer a family unit that readers will love, hate, and route for. Book III - Claim - is being released June, 2010. If you haven't read this trilogy, run out and buy the firs
