A ONE ROOM SCHOOL, ONE TEACHER, 67 CHILDREN, AND A CURSE

How did she do it? Nineteen year old Christy Huddleston answers the plea for a teacher for the children of Cutter Gap. Imagine her feelings when 67 children, some only a couple of years younger than she fill the one room school house. Or better yet, her feelings when Creed lifts a trap door over a crawl space under the school house floor, begins pulling pigs out, and letting them loose in the school. As if that is not enough, the great grandmother of some of her students decides that Christy is cursed and determines to drive her away from Cutter Gap. SILENT SUPERSTITIONS is a must read, especially if you've read Catherine Marshall's Christy and ached to know the rest of the story!

Exciting book for the young reader.

"You brought the curse with you, girl!" Christy Rudd Huddleston is a nineteen year old girl who moved to Cutter Gap to become a teacher. Granny O'Teale, the grandmother of six of Christy's students belives that Christy Huddleston has brought with her a curse to Cutter Gap. Is Granny O'Teale right? Is it because of Christy's curse that Bob Allen, one of Christy's students, had a terrible accident? Will Granny O'Teale drive Christy from Cutter Gap? Or will the childrens fears be overcome by Christy's loving heart? Silent Superstitions is part of the Christy series written by Catherine Marshall and is a must for young adult fiction readers everywhere.
