Shopaholic to the Stars

I've enjoyed the other "Shopaholic" books that I've read -- silly, sweet, lighthearted fun. This one, however, crossed the line from delightfully absurd but plausible -- to mostly senseless. For starters, why would a British financial consultant be hired to revive a Hollywood brat's failing movie career? After that, I felt like I was reading a random collection of the worst vignettes from "I Love Lucy." Plus, the rare glimpses of appalling "mothering" were distasteful. For the first time, I found protagonist Becky to be callous, immature, unlikable, shallow and straight-up dumb. If you're new to this otherwise charming series, start with a different title.
