Book Overview

This is the exciting story of a young girl who became a legend. A terrific story . . . utterly convincing (Kirkus Review). Annie Oakley shoots straight from the page in this fictionalized biography .... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Who Says Only Boys Can have Special Talents?

I absolutely loved this book. Of course, all books on Annie Oakley have always interested me, but this one stood apart from the rest. The way that the story is told from Annies point of view makes everything make more sense. You understand the emotions Annie feels and it's almost as if you're really connecting with this character. Sheila Solomon Klass did a wonderful job. It's not as if Annie Oakley is trying to become famous or prove the world wrong, it's just that she's trying to feed her poor Quaker family and pay off the mortgage using her talent in Sharpshooting. Touring Worldwide wasn't really part of the plan, but it was certainly the outcome!

This was a really good book!

I think this book was very, very good. The author made Annie'slife so interesting. It was a fun book to read. This book also madeAnnie Oakley become my hero. It proved that boys aren't the best at everything.

A Great Book!

I think "A Shooting Star" is so cool because you never know whats going to happen next, your always in suspense! But I was kind of disapointed the way it ended, but what I really mean was that I did't want it to end. I would recommend this book to any one who likes a book that you can't ever put down!

This was the best book i've ever read

This was the best book i've ever read and it might be the same for you. It is a great book that describes the life of Annie Oakly (Phobe Anne Moses). Her life was full of happy and sad events. I think you should read this book because you'll love it. This was the best book i've ever read as a nine year old.
