Book Overview

Remember when Sex and the City 's Carrie Bradshaw faced the brutal realization that she couldn't buy her apartment because she'd already spent her money on a closet full of Manolos? Well, if Carrie had met Catey first, she'd own her co-op and be on her way to a comfortable retirement!? Catey Hill is the online money expert for the Daily News Web site--and author of this humorous, practical "girlfriends guide" to personal finance for 20- and 30-something...

Create a New Financial You!

If reading about personal finance is about as exciting to you as organizing your sock drawer... this gem of a book is for you. In a fun, breezy, highly-readable manner Catey Hill tells you exactly what you need to know to create a "new financial you." Whether your vice is credit card debt, student loans, or figuring out how to negotiate a higher salary, there something here for every woman who wants to move from "financial cope" to "financial hope." This year, invest in yourself and read SHOO, JIMMY CHOO!

Practical, Understandable and Fun!

I'm no finance person. Nor am I much of a self-help book person. But Catey Hill's Shoo, Jimmy Choo! is the perfect book for someone like me. With Catey's guidance, I've learned how to take charge of my financial present and future, even if my past was a little bit checkered. So buy this book - one for yourself, and one for each of your friends with whom you've indulged in those spontaneous shopping binges!

Thank you Shoo, Jimmy Choo!

Being a waitress, I have a little money but bad shopping tendencies. I can't ever decide whether to buy something or just let it go. I read Catey Hill's book and was instanstly in love. It was nice to know that you can have nice things and have money at the same time - without the thousand dollar credit card bill! Seems like the perfect book for the economy these days and for women like me - those who love to shop til we drop, but when we get the credit card bill a few weeks later, we wonder what happened. Catey Hill hits it dead on with helping you get what you want without killing yourself or your credit cards! Definately a good read for the college aged through thirties and even beyond!

Great read!

I got an advance copy of Shoo Jimmy Choo from the magazine where I work, and I thought it was great! It's got all the money basics you need to know - getting out of debt, saving for retirement, buying a home, etc. - but it's not dry and boring like some other personal finance books I've seen. The author's got a breezy, witty tone and she knows what she's talking about at the same time. I def. recommend this book to any woman who wants to manage her money better!

Happy new year honey, stop spending so much money!

My wife spends like a maniac - guess what I'm getting her for the holidays? Shoo, Jimmy Choo! This book is great - got all the money management basics anybody needs, written in a way I know my wife will relate to. This would be a great gift for your wife/girlfriend/daughter -- perfect for the New Year's resolution YOU want her to make, especially during these tough times.
