Shawn Kemp

This book is an excellent introduction for young people into the life of a basketball superstar. It doesn't speak down to them or sugar-coat the flaws in character that normally fill adolescent literature. I wanted to get a book for my nephew for Christmas, but found myself immersed in the writing of this one. . Kemp came off as much more three dimensional than I would have expected. Plenty of pictures, although I would have preferred more variety. Many of them seem to be action shots from the same game. And, I want to stress this is young adult literature,so don't expect Joyce. But, I was very impressed with it on the level it was, and would recommend it for any youngster. My nephew liked it.
