It?s Christmas time in the forest, but this year there isn?t much reason for the animals to celebrate. It?s been a cold, snowy winter, and the little deer Clara and her mother are worried about finding enough food. Her mother tells Clara to wish on a star, but she doesn?t hold much hope for a happy Christmas. The next day more snow falls, but Clara hears the sound of bells in the distance. As they follow the sound, the two deer join up with squirrels, rabbits and birds along the way. When they stumble onto a stash of nuts and berries, they decide to share with all the other animals, in the spirit of the holiday. It turns into a magical, jolly celebration, and now Clara has reason to know that Christmas wishes can come true. This is a beautiful, heart-warming story about the true meaning of Christmas.
My son really enjoys this book. He even wanted to read it in July! It's a sweet story of what Christmas is all about - sharing. The illustrations are also very beautiful.
Peace and Sharing

This was a beautiful book where different types of animals shared and helped each other. What a world this would be if our children were brought up with these values in commercial products instead of the violence that now prevails in games and movies.
