Shaolin Sisters!!!

This is the first manga I've purchased in a while, and I wanted to try something a little differant. This story is a sequel to the manga Juline, except now Juline is Julin. After the White Lotus clan attacks the Fighting Fang Hall, Julin learns she has two older sisters, and her father might actually be alive! She receives a small bell, and learns that her sisters also received these bells. She must go out now and find her sisters. This is not such an easy task, however. She learns the queen of the White Lotus clan wishes to take the bells to unleash the power to rule the world.I didn't expect the manga to be that great. But the characters were maybe a little cliche, but they were interesting nonetheless. The artwork was gorgeous, and all the scenes - namely the fighting scenes - were well depicted. The storyline may seem a little reused - the fantasy story about an orphan trying to find something, but it is well told and I can't wait to get the next volume.

An excellent sequel to an excellent series!

I liked Juline, although I must say I prefer Ranma 1/2 for martial arts manga. This is the sequel to Juline--and a very good sequel it is.Juline has to look for her sisters (ones she never knew she had), but that is not going to be as easy as she thinks. And one of the sisters is hiding something from Juline...The art is hard to follow sometimes, but it is still beautiful. Like Vampire Princess Miyu, Vampire Yui, and Juline, the art is flowing, gentle, and has very few defining lines. The story is intriguing, although not entirely original. But that does not hamper the story in any way. It is a fresh take on the oft-used "hero/heroine goes looking for long last family" plot, which is even more interesting since Juline was basically "find and protect the three treasures that have the ability to destroy the planet" thing. All in all, a very good read and a worthy addition to any manga collection.
