In this latest of a series about a bachelor auction in the heart of the West, the good citizens of Rushwack, Colorado, take up a collection to have a widow bid on Shane. They want him to lend his celebrity to save "Old Pioneer Days, " not knowing that he is the father of the widow's daughter.
Harlequin's "Heart of the West" series has heroes with troubled youths who somehow overcome their bad beginnings. Like them, Shane Daniels, a bull riding champion carry baggage from his past that makes it difficult for him to commit. A commitment phobe. Will he fall for our heroine? Of course! But how... nice read!
As good as the rest in this series

Shane Daniels like the rest of the bachelors in this series were very fun to read. Shane is reunited with a woman he once know but never thought he would see again. She is sent on a mission on behalf of her hometown to save their Old Pioneer Days Festival by winning him in the acution. She hoped to presuade him to just turn up for the day, but he has other ideas which she is not to pleased about as she has something to hide from him. Their jounery from the auction to the festival has it up and downs. Like all the rest of the bachelors in the series its shows that men can have a somewhat softer side.
