hm...

erm...ok. i've just had a look at some of the other reviews on this book, and, to be honest, i can't see what the problem is. true, you don't expect paige and phoebe to be able to throw fire balls, but in the tv series, they eventually find the talent, so, why not now? personally, i thought this book was the best in the series so far, though the brewing storm, dark vengeance and date with death are close seconds. the things that disappoint other people don't bother me at all. maybe that's just because i haven't watched many episodes of the actual tv series, but hey, i'm reading the books after all. then again, i didn't even notice those 'problems' until i read the reviews. but that doesn't really bother me. sure, i bet some of you out there are thinking, hey, what does a kid know about this type of stuff? well, i've read pretty much the entire charmed series, and plenty of others besides, some of which are adult fiction. sure, it's not a big claim, but at least i know what i'm talking about. would i recommend this book to anyone? geez, i don't know... hey, are you kidding? of course! for any charmed fan. i know some of you will be dissapointed, but, well, that's your problem, not mine.

Most Memorable book so far

This story is my favorite so far, I've even bought the book twice now! (cuz I lent it out and didnt get it back, wont make THAT mistake again!) I love that Paige is still learning her powers and how to do spells, because when things backfire it makes it all the more interesting and funny! Paige as a cat, and taken to ancient egypt of all places, makes for one TOTALLY FREAKEN AWESOME story! luv it luv it, more please!!

Cats,Egyptian deities,adventure and ... energy balls

Shadow of the Sphinx is another Charmed book, written by Carla Jablonski. Paige shapeshifts into a cat while Piper,Phoebe,Leo and Cole are outdoors but cannot turn back into herself. When she is found by her sisters, she is given to a local animal shelter. Then she is ''adopted'' by Tyler, who wants to use her for something that may go so wrong...Piper and Phoebe have to find her before it is too late and all the while face some rather annoying entities... OK, I have to admit that the book had several mistakes... 1)page 1 - ''Phoebe's fiance , Cole Porter...'' - while we all know that Cole's surname is Turner 2)page 36 - ''Phoebe held out her palm, concentrated and formed an energy form.'' - Phoebe CANNOT form energy balls, her powers are levitation and premonitions. 3)Paige CANNOT throw energy balls but that's the case in several parts of the book... However, this book is amazing. It is gripping , with lots of adventure and exploration of Ancient Egypt. I just overlooked the mistakes and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Exciting Addition to the Charmed Series

Paige Matthews, is finally starting to adjust to the information of her being one of the Charmed Ones, and also to get used to her new half-sisters, Phoebe and Piper. She feels that for the both of her sisters to accept her, after Prue's death, she needs to prove herself to them. So Paige decides to try shape-shifting, which only brings along trouble. Soon she's a cat, and she can't turn herself back into her human form. Then Phoebe brings her to the animal shelter, where she is adopted by Tyler, a man fascinated with Ancient Egypt, who names her Bastet, and someone catapults the both of them into Ancient Egypt. Now Piper and Phoebe are searching for Paige, to turn her back into human form, but end up turning an evil Ancient Egyptian woman back into human form, and setting her loose to destroy the world. The Power of Three must defeat her before it is too late. This is only the second CHARMED book in which I have read, and I am not one bit disappointed. Being very fascinated in shape-shifting, and Ancient Egypt, and being a cat lover, I felt that this book was fantastic. Jablonski did a great job with researching history, and making the characters and settings so life-like. A must-have book for all fans of the CHARMED series, or anyone interested in shape-shifting, Ancient Egypt, or cats. Erika Sorocco

pretty good book

i have read a few of the other reviews and i have to ask them tolighten up a bit. i am currently writing my own charmed book and it is already not consistent with the tv show. one of the problems is that you get an ideal and then the show moves in a diffrent direction or by the time you get your book published, your ideals may be a little out of date. maybe this author started writing the book at the beginning of season 4 and a lot of the relationships between piper and paige would have been right in line. i thought the book was cute and would reccomend it.and now to my review. paige is feeling like she can never feel prue's shoes so when she finds a spell to change herself into an animal she jumps in head first without thinking about the consequences. she turns into a cat and this leads her on many adventures including one to egypt which makes this book in my opinion diffrent, imaginative and funny at times. i personally take my hat off to the author and as one who is definitely struggling with her own book, all i can say is i can't see how you get all your thoughts together to make such a great book.
