I thought this book was really good, mainly because Jana learns that instead of immediatly assuming a person is a certain way, if you take a closer look, you'll see how different things can be. I did think it was a little dumb for a school to have a 'popularity' contest- I mean, is that what we're trying to promote in schools? I did think, though, it was nice that Jana and her mother wanted to help Geena buy some more feminine clothes, etc. What Geena needed was a good friend who was a girl, and I think Jana will be that person.
