Great Manga

I disagree with what farmers wife said. How she commented on this book was obviously, not a fact, but an opinion. Or a rumor. There wasn't ANY language in the manga. If she wants to know what bad manga is, she should read the popular stuff. Now THAT'S bad stuff! I have all six of these books and they teach teens about why prayer is so important. It also throws in other valuable lessons such as being kind to one another, forgiving each other dispite what they do to you, AND it even tought me (I'm 13) how bad mistakes (like doing drugs, drinking, or smoking) can effect your life in a bad way. That's mostly what Rave-N-Rant is about.

Inspirational Manga: Serenity 4: Rave and Rant

Billed as "inspirational manga", the Serenity series from Realbuzz Studios is a full-color comic book series focusing on slice-of-life teenage drama. The stories revolve around the interaction between the title character, Serenity Harper (a newly transferred high school student with a troubled past) and the school's Christian club (whose members have themselves struggled through a wide range of temptations and who have "adopted" Serenity as one of their own). Each volume contains two or more interlocking short stories that tell the ongoing tale of Serenity's journey of faith. Story summary of volume 4: Rave and Rant Serenity wrestles with loneliness and with her frustrating love/hate relationship with her Christian friends at school. Meanwhile, as the Christian club plans a party, some drug dealers also show up hoping to make a quick sale. (Possible parental advisory: "Serenity" is set amid the pressures of a modern high school, and as such the teenage characters are confronted with realistic issues that range from boredom and jealousy to drug addiction and sexuality. Through it all, the stories present the honest struggle between Serenity's fragile faith and the lure of her former self-destructive lifestyle.)
