Serafina and the Black Cloak-The Serafina Series Book 1

I LOVE this book, and although I’m not a child. I feel like books made for younger audiences have always seemed a little more… interesting (in my personal opinion). Not so much blood and gore, but creativity. Not all of course, but this book is a prime example of what I’m trying to convey. No spoilers though! You’ll just have to enjoy it for yourself. 😉📖

I'd say this was fair. A little more than fair, actually. At first I didn't think I'd like the main character, but she really grew on me. I found the other characters intriguing as well, especially Braedon. The plot, though fun, did feel a bit rough at some spots. A bit forced. But I don't think it's anything a kid would take notice of. Would I read the sequel? Hmm. I think if the book was at my local library, or a friend had a copy and insisted I read it, or heck maybe even if there was a copy in half priced books discount bin I would. I wouldn't seek it out, though. Everything wrapped up nicely and even though overall I enjoyed it, some of the book's aesthetic just wasn't my cup of tea. Three and a calf out of five cows :)
