This book is very useful for those in the selling business. Since I am in the banking field and am required to sell all the time, I found this book quite useful. It covers everything from finding the customer till maintaining a happy relationship with him. It did not miss on anything. It supplies you with all sort of relevant examples and real case studies and experiences that are so useful. Of course since its part of the dummies series, the language was so simple and straightforward. The only thing I didn't like about it was the size of the book. I mean reading a self improvement book that contains 362 pages is not an easy task at all. You need to be patient. You also need to allow yourself to skip many parts and paragraphs that don't grab your attention, otherwise the book might be eventually boring and you could lose the opportunity of learning so much about selling. This book is not the kind of book you read once then store in a box. You need to be going back and forth to it whenever you need to refer to its principles.
I love these books....

Dummies Books.... great concept.... eye catching.. and easy to read. I love them... However.. it's a bit embarrasing to read these at a local coffee shop. Do yourself a favor and read at home. LoL. Great book, save $$$ and skip those $100 professional "sales" books/cds that claim to know the "secret". Keep it simple stupid. Dress to impress, act the part (professional) and be honest. People hate being sold, but love to buy.
So helpful!

This book is exactly what I've been looking for! It clearly sketches out the steps for a successful sale. I knew there had to be a receipe out there that did that and finally I found it! Very well organized and easy to use! If you've never had a sales class before, then this is the book for you to walk you through it from start to finish. It clearly takes you all the way from cold calls to closing the deal, including telling you exactly what to say and do.

I come from a technical background and had no idea what selling is all about. Selling For Dummies taught me everything I need to know about selling, from what to say, how to say it, time management, motivation and everything under the sun that is related to selling! I keep a copy on my desk and use it to write thank-you notes as Mr. Hopkins demonstrates. As I write this, I have been in the business of selling for little over a year. I have been a steady quota achiever and even won awards for selling above quota. I have read 3-4 other sales book and a heard several sales audio CD's but many other books or audio books assume that you know something about selling. Read this book first before you read any other sales book.
