Effective basic self defense

This book is useful in teaching children some basic self defense techniques to defend against grade school, middle school bullying. If the situation demands more than this book covers, you might find a dojo that works with children in a considerate manner. A non-sport form where the children are neither picked on nor conditioned to violence seems best. Okinawan non-sport forms of karate may be suitable. Attend the dojo, and watch the classes for a while before you decide. Don't hesitate to quit and look further if you don't like the results.
